"Hi Jon! We'd love
to be on the website. Here's what's going on up here in Poughkeepsie,
NY:
Brian is about to turn 2 years old. He scares us because he has
NO FEAR of anything! No fear of water, cars, spiders, heights, his
parents.....nothing! He has a great laugh and a beautiful smile.
His vocabulary is really starting to expand. He and I spend a lot
of time in the car shuttling his older brothers and sister around.
Geoffrey is 4 years old. He goes to pre-school 3 mornings a week
and absolutely loves it. (He could hardly wait for school to start
again.) This is the first year that Geoffrey is old enough to be
on his own soccer team. He has spent his whole life on the sidelines
at Christian and Heather's games and practices and it is finally
his turn. He smiles the whole time he's on the field. It's really
fun to watch.
Heather is 7 years old and in 2nd grade. She does really well at
school. She loves her teacher (it's the same teacher as last year
- the teacher moved up with the kids). Heather takes piano lessons
and right now Heather is also playing soccer - in the spring she
plays softball. Heather is a great help with her 2 younger brothers.
Heather is looking forward to turning 8 because then she can be
baptized. She continues to grow more beautiful every day.
Christian is 12 years old and in 7th grade. Christian takes piano
and clarinet lessons and is really starting to play both instruments
quite well. He's in the school band. Christian is going to try out
for the school swim team this winter. He's really hoping to make
the team. Christian is also enjoying Boy Scouts. He's First Class
rank right now but will be Star shortly (for those who understand
- he only needs his Board of Review). Christian is also part of
a troop from the Hudson Valley Council going to the National Scout
Jamboree in July 2005. This takes up time and lots of mom and dad's
$$$$ but it's going to be worth it. The Jamboree is held only once
every 4 years at Fort A.P. Hill, VA. As some of you know, as a Scout
service project he collected 150.5 pounds of school supplies/toys/treats
to send to Amanda in Iraq. That was fun.
I, Stephanee, am busy being a stay-at-home mom and getting all 4
kids where they need to be when they need to be there. I also crack
the whip to get chores done, instruments practiced, homework done,
etc. I am the secretary for the Relief Society, our church women's
group. I also teach the Relief Socciety class one Sunday each month.
I try to help out as much as I can at the kid's schools. There are
only a small number of parents who don't work during the day who
can put in time at the schools / chaperone field trips / help with
Book Fairs, etc.
Brent works hard, as always, providing a wonderful home for us.
He teaches a Sunday School class, the 10-12 year olds, at church
every Sunday. He has not had to travel as much lately which has
been VERY nice. The kids love it when he walks through the door
at the end of the day.
We all had a wonderful 2 week vacation this past July. We went to
Salt Lake City, UT / Moab, UT / Arches National Park / Grand Canyon
/ Page, AZ / Zion National Park / and to the Stratford Family Reunion
at Clear Creek Family Ranch in Utah ( by Zion National Park). We
don't want to see any more red rock for a long time! It was lots
of fun but by the time it was over it was really nice to see our
own home again.
That's about it for us.
Thanks Jon!
-Stephanee =)
P.S. I'll send 4 or 5 pictures."
